Covid-19 Response

At Village Animal Hospital, we are entirely focused on the welfare of our clients and patients.  Now, more than ever, in light of the evolving COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation, we are focused on the health and safety of all our clients, patients and employees, without compromising the quality of our veterinary services.

As public policy changes so will our policies.  We are adhering to the latest information from the world’s leading health experts and government authorities, including the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) to maximize the effectiveness of our response.

In the interest of all of our clients and staff, the team at Village Animal Hospital requests that any clients who are exhibiting symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, or breathing difficulties, reschedule any existing appointment.  We will be minimizing direct human-to-human contact while following all CDC recommended hygiene practices.

This means that we will be conducting only curbside interactions.  Our staff will meet you in the parking lot to deliver food and medications.  We will accept dogs ONLY ON A LEASH and cats ONLY IN A CARRIER.  Please to not attempt to hand us your animal directly.  Doors to the facility will be locked, so we encourage you to call us at 751-1437 so that we may assist you.  Please think ahead and provide us with any WRITTEN specific requests that you may have as we take your pet into our facility while you remain in your vehicle for any elective procedures (vaccinations, nail trims, grooming, dentals, spays & neuters)

For any sick pets, please provide as much written information as possible (nature of visit, duration, vomiting, diarrhea, eating & drinking, etc.)  You cannot provide us with too much information.  Please keep your cell phone on and nearby in case we need to discuss any other questions, conditions, diagnostics, and treatments.

Most of all, please exhibit patience and grace with us until this situation is resolved.  We are merely following the suggested guidelines for the benefit of all.  In the event of a mandate to temporarily shut down businesses, please note that the government will likely designate veterinarians and veterinary hospitals as an “essential business” meaning that we can hopefully remain open to provide care for your pets.

Thank you,

Dr. Steve Giles & Dr. Jerilyn Wright and the staff of Village Animal Hospital.
